Metro today announced the availability of 2017 Inaugural SmarTrip Passes at 50 CVS/Pharmacy stores throughout the Washington, DC, area. Metro is encouraging everyone planning to attend the Inauguration to purchase and load a SmarTrip card in advance.

Cards cost $7 and are pre-loaded with $5 in value. SmarTrip cards can also be purchased at metro rail stations and online from WMATA. The DC Circulator also offers convenient downtown service between Georgetown and Union Station as well as the National Mall.
A permanent, rechargeable farecard that can hold up to $300 in stored value to pay fares for Metrorail, Metrobus and other participating transit agencies as well as parking fees at Metro operated facilities. The card costs $2 and comes with $8 in stored fare value for a total price of $10.

The METRO Card is given to all customers who meet our eligibility criteria. It certifies you as a registered METRO customer and gives you access to all the products at any METRO centre.

You have up to a year after the expiration date on the card to transfer the balance at a booth, a MetroCard Vending Machine or by mailing it in to MetroCard Customer Claims. We issue a replacement card for the remaining value on your Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard. We don't provide cash refunds.
Once SmartBenefits® are allocated to the employee's SmartBenefits® account, such funds are non-refundable and never expire as long as the fare technology possessed by the employee is still accepted for use by WMATA to pay fares.
Cost: $33 (7-day) or $127 (30-day). You have unlimited swipes on the subway and local buses for either 7 or 30 days. Your MetroCard can only hold one Unlimited Ride refill at a time.
Under Metro's current base fares, children four and under ride for free. Children five and over pay full fare, $1.75. Once a five-year-old starts school, they become eligible for student discounts; if they apply for and obtain a student TAP card, they pay $1 per ride.
