Professional Women’s Roundtable to Honor Nikki Johnson-Huston, Esq. with PoWeR Award
PWR Announces Anniversary Event Sponsored by Long Financial Group
PHILADELPHIA – September 1, 2015 – Professional Women’s Roundtable (PWR), a non-profit organization providing networking, leadership and educational opportunities to women business leaders in the Greater Philadelphia region, will present its PoWeR Award to Nikki Johnson-Huston, Esq. at its 13th Annual Anniversary Event on October 8th, 2015. The event will take place at New Century Trust, 1307 Locust Street, from 5:30 - 8:30pm.
The PoWeR Award is presented annually to a woman in the Philadelphia community who is committed to mentoring women and advancing women’s issues, particularly among emerging women business leaders. Recent honorees include Patricia Connolly of the Center for Corporate Governance at LeBow College of Business, Drexel University and LEADERSHIP Philadelphia CEO Liz Dow.
Nikki Johnson-Huston, Esq. is an antipoverty advocate who demonstrated incredible resilience in her journey to becoming a lawyer – overcoming homelessness and later earning her J.D./M.B.A/ LL.M in Taxation from the Temple University Beasley School of Law. Nikki is now a tax attorney with her own firm, The Law Office of Nikki Johnson-Huston LLC, and also a prominent speaker on how she overcame a life of poverty to become an award winning attorney. This year, Nikki launched “Donafy,” an innovative micro-philanthropy iPhone app that empowers citizens to locate and donate to nearby nonprofit organizations that service people in need of emergency housing, food, medical care, mental health, job training, LGBT and Legal Services.
Admission to the October 8th event is $10 for Premium Members (events pre-paid), $20 for standard members (events not pre-paid), and $40 for non-members, and includes drinks and light fare.
